Michael Kamen

Michael Kamen had an impressive résumé both as conductor and composer and was renowned for his synthesis of michael-kamen-bw-webpop, rock, jazz, world and symphonic music developing orchestral settings with such diverse stars as Luciano Pavarotti, Metallica, Eric Clapton, The Eurythmics, Bob Dylan, Des’ree and Sting.

One of the world’s leading film composers, he wrote scores for over 75 feature films including Highlander, Lethal Weapon, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, 101 Dalmatians, Mr Holland’s Opus and X-Men.

No stranger to international events, Michael composed and conducted the music for opening and closing ceremonies at the Atlanta and Salt Lake City Olympics. Michael’s first symphony, New Moon in the Old Moon’s Arms, was commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra and performed in January 2000.He composed the score for the highly acclaimed mini-series, Band of Brothers, directed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. His work garnered him four Grammy’s and nominations for three Oscars, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy.
